COVID-19 Vaccines
Wallasey Wellbeing PCN is delivering COVID-19 vaccines on behalf of our member practices.
Our vaccination centre is at Victoria Central Hospital and at present is operating every Saturday and Sunday 9am-4pm. We are ONLY able to give you a vaccine if you have booked an appointment via your GP practice.
Currently we are giving COVID-19 booster doses to all those who are eligible and are at least 6 months post their 2nd dose. Whether you had the Pfizer or AstraZenica vaccine for your initial doses you will receive a the Pfizer vaccine for your booster dose.
When you come for your vaccine
Please DO NOT attend for your vaccine if you have any symptoms of COVID-19 or have tested positive in the past 10 days
Please wear a face covering when you are in the vaccination centre
When you arrive at Victoria Central Hospital please enter via the main doors. You will be greeted by one of our volunteers and will then talk to one of our experienced GP’s or nurses who will explain the risks and benefits of the vaccination to you. If you are happy to proceed then you will be taken through to our vaccinators who will run through some final safety checks and administer the vaccine.
We will then ask you to sit in one of our observation areas for 15 minutes and if you feel well you may then leave.
Fraud – Be vigilant
- We are aware that some people are receiving suspicious calls and text messages offering the COVID-19 vaccination. To protect yourself and your family members from fraud and criminals, remember the following points.
The vaccine is only available on the NHS for free to people in priority groups, and the NHS will contact you when it is your turn. Anyone offering a paid-for vaccine is committing a crime. - The NHS will never ask you to press a button on your keypad or send a text to confirm you want the vaccine, and never ask for payment or for your bank details.
- At the moment we are also not making house calls to deliver or discuss the vaccine. Anyone offering this now is committing a crime.
If you receive a call you believe to be fraudulent, hang up. If you believe you have been the victim of fraud or identity theft you should report this directly to Action Fraud on 0300 123 2040. Where the victim is vulnerable, and particularly if you are worried that someone has or might come to your house, report it to the Police online or by calling 101.
